Well we won, yes Sunday 25th February, an early start it was, 8.15 am at the bandroom and off to Blackpool, Winter Gardens to compete in the National Brass Band Championshipa 4th division. We drew No. 2 in order of play, and after playing quite well, we thought, were awarded first prize along with best percussion and best basses beating 11 other bands .    What an achievement.   So off we go to Cheltenham in September to the finals against bands from all over the  UK. A huge thank you must go to our  newly appointed Josh Hughes whose commitment and enthusiasm is second to none.

Many congratulations to all our players  from the youngest, age 11 Matthew Hurst to our oldest Ron Heyes, nearly 79 next week.

This win is also special to us as it’s our 70th year and it’s 10 years since we qualified for the finals.   So watch this space for our celebratory events later in the year.
