Christmas 2014

Well the busy time of the year is with us again. We’ve already had caroling at tesco and an early concert but last Sunday 7th dec was our very own concert. Held at the Conservative Club in Lostock Hall. We had a capacity audience of over 120 people who enjoyed our music making. Father Christmas made an appearance and mince pies were served at the  interval.    In addition to senior band our Youth band played a short spell of about 15 minutes, displaying their new purple polo shirts – they looked very posh. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Green for your generous donation.

In the second half our awards were presented as follows:

Service to the band.   –    Phil Dunkley.  Phil is our contest secretary
Most improved player (s).    –    Tom Stevens and Natalie Goadby
Player(s) of the year –    Richard Kay and Orla Green.  Our two fantastic percussionists
Lastly players player of the year the Sarah Gardner memorial awarded to Tom Duddle our Principal cornet player.

We’re having a quiet week this week but from Saturday onwards we are very busy with a wedding to play at and lots of caroling at super stores. Our finale is on Sunday 21st at the Grapes Wrea Green for lots more carols.
