Friday 8 November saw the celebration of band’s 65th birthday.  A party was held in The Function Suite, Railway Hotel, Leyland.   A great evening was enjoyed by approx. 70 people, both present and past band members, even one or two from our Youth band attended and  great support from past players together with a  couple of ex Musical Directors. A hot pot supper was served following a moving but humorous speech my Martin – Band secretary,  then the dancing began until last orders. A presentation of flowers and whisky was made to Ron and Jean for their dedication to band over the years.  Ron has 65 years of service to LHMB, supported by Jean who has stood by him over many of these. There have been lots of lovely comments on social media sites since Friday and a good evening was enjoyed by all. Here’s to our 70th in 2018.
