Sunday 9 March 2014 saw our annual visit to Blackpool Winter gardens to take part in the North West Area Brass Band championships. We were pre drawn to play in the second half and were finally due to play number 16 out of 17 bands. Yes a long day. We left bandroom at around 12 noon by coach and our time on stage was approx.3 pm. Well we played quite well but only came 9th out of 17 bands. Not a bad result but we were slightly disappointed. Following our performance we spent a little while in a local hostalry befoe returning to bandroom at 7p.m. Well another year over when we will not be going to the finals in Cheltenham in September. However, we’ve been previously, won it once, and at least it saves us a few pounds. Here’s to next year.
